INTERNATIONAL STARS AND THEIR FASHION LABELS

Not many of us are conversant with international stars and their fashion labels. And there are quite a number of them who have designs created for them under their own fashion labels or who have worked with luxury fashion designers. In the next couple of weeks we shall be highlighting these Hollywood beauties one after the other and taking a look at what they have to offer and how well they are doing in the fashion business. Of course, our focus will be mainly on those with shoe lines.

Today, we would be looking at MADONNA. Not many people know that the American entertainer has produced four fashion brands.

M by Madonna being the first amongst them was launched in 2007 when she collaborated with H&M. The collection was basically Jackets, trench coats, shift dresses and so on.

In 2010, Madonna and her daughter, Lourdes Ciccone Leon produced the teenage fashion brand Material Girl, The 1980s inspired clothing line consists of apparel, footwear, handbags, jewelry and accessories. They sell from about $50 and above and on sales for as low as $30. Here are a few designs from the shoe collection.

In 2010, Madonna collaborated with fashion designers Dolce and Gabbana to produce a range of sunglasses named MDG (their initials).

In November 2011, Madonna announced plans of launching her own global lifestyle brand, called Truth or Dare by Madonna; her second lifestyle brand following Material Girl with her daughter Lourdes to include handbags, footwear, accessories, intimates and fragrances. Madonna's target for the brand was women in the age range of 27–50. Here are some of the designs from the collection selling from $80 - $100 and above.
