Over the weekend, I had the opportunity (I say opportunity because it was designer shoe heaven) to go into a certain somebody's closet and I had the honor of meeting the recently released 'OMBRE PIGALLE FOLLIES PATENT' by my very own footwear legend, Christian Louboutin.

Trend Alert And Here To Stay.... CHUNKY HEELS

Chunky Heels have been trending for the past two seasons and looks like they are here to stay. I particularly love them for their comfort and how they infuse the 70's era into today's style. Little wonder designers have retired the pencil heel stiletto for the chunky block heel.

Magical Moments...The Cinderella Glass Slippers!!!

This post should have come a lot earlier but better late than never and it will still be fresh for those that don't know (hehehehe).

I am yet to watch the Cinderella Movie that was released earlier in the year, but I have followed all the buzz that went with the production and I was super excited when I read that disney patnered with 9 top footwear designers to create their own versions of the famous Cinderella Glass Slippers.



The fairy tale Glass Slippers worn by Cinderella (played by Lily James) in the movie were designed and made by Swarovski out of crystal.

#WOMANCRUSHWEDNESDAY- CHARLOTTE OLYMPIA

I'm always eager to be in the know about the background of my favorite footwear designers, it gives me a sense of feeling close to them and I get to learn what inspires their individual designs.
 
Today it's all about Charlotte Olympia born in 1981 in Cape Town, South Africa, to Brazilian model Andréa de Magalhães Vieira and property developer Guy Dellal. She is the eldest of four children and grew up in Paris, Rio de Janeiro and London.
 
She launched her London based shoe and accessory brand in 2008 after she had completed a foundation course at the London College of Fashion.
 
Adding a sense of humor, her designs are influenced by classical Hollywood cinema glamour, pin-ups and movie stars from the 1940s and 50s.

As an unrepentant shoe addict, I find myself going through every footwear designer’s website and just taking in the sight of all those beautiful pairs of shoes and building this larger than life closet in my head, with each pair sitting pretty side by side. Some days, my closet (in my head) would be arranged by designer because I’d have so many from every season’s collection. Some other days, they would be by their colors and other days by their style until the price tags bring me back to reality.
