It's Tuesday guys and time for another shoe care session... This time SATIN... Satin has a lustrous, glossy finish that gives it an elegant and glam look.... Unfortunately, satin shoes can't be washed and we can't avoid stains and smudges getting on them no matter how careful we get.

No 1 option on cleaning stained satin shoes would be taking them to a dry cleaner's because of their delicate nature...But sometimes the bill for dry cleaning services would conveniently buy another pair... So why not learn to DIY???

First is learning to protect your shoes before they even get smudged. And what better way to protect your satin shoes than HAIRSPRAY... Yessss!!! Hair Spray...
Protect your satin shoes by applying hairspray on them inbtw wears

 1. Spray your shoes with hair spray holding the can about 6"
away covering the entire area of the
shoe and making sure not to soak any area.

2. Give about 2- 3 coats, ensuring it gets dry between coats.
This gives your shoes a different kind of
shine and protects it from easily absorbing dirt.

To clean your shoes in between wears,

1. Use a nylon stocking to wipe off any dirt on the surface of
the shoe down to the heel making sure you are not rubbing
against the fabric (follow the smooth line of the fabric and
Nylon stockings are perfect for prepping your shoes before cleaning them or spraying them
not in the opposite direction.)

2. Spray again with hair spray and let your shoes sit pretty in your closet.

Note: NEVER use water to clean your satin shoes as they tend to hold on to water thereby leaving watermarks and this ruins the overall look of your shoes.

In the event that your shoes get stained, here's a quick way to clean such stains

1. Using an oil based soap, (we recommend hair shampoo), squirt some in a bowl of warm water and loosen it up using ur hands.
Use hair shampoo to remove light stains

2. Dip a soft sponge in the mixture, ring out the excess water and rub the stain gently in the direction of the fabric till the stain fades away.

3. Mop off any excess water with a soft towel and buff with a lint free dry cloth.

4. Dry it further immediately with a hair dryer on the lowest heat (Don't leave it to air dry as this may
    cause watermarks to form.)

Keep your drier on the lowest heat

5. For even tougher stains, let vodka do the trick.

6. Wet a piece of dry cloth with vodka and wipe gently on the stain rubbing along the direction of the
fabric till the stain fades away.

7. Spray your shoes with hair spray to bring back the shine and leave to air dry.
