#ManCrushMonday..........SCREAM WITH ME CHRISTIAN LOUBOUTIN

I love a man that would go the extra mile to make a woman feel and look sexy and that is why the 1963 French born footwear designer Christian Louboutin tops the list of my favourite male designers and is my man crush all day everyday, every week, month, year and the past few years.

Everybody who knows me knows that i love me some Christian, not just because he is Louboutin and every Lola, Tomi, Nkechi and Ada has a pair of his designs in their closet (even the aba made louboutins are not left out), but the attention to detail he pays to every pair manufactured gets me. In 24years he has remained consistent wowing me with every new release.

I just want to pinch his cheeks. My very own Christian Louboutin
Today, i'd be taking you on a journey through the life of the man called Christian and how much impact he has made in the soles of women around the world.

Growing up with 3sisters and his mum must have influenced his interest in female accessories but the passion came alive for him after he went to a museum and came across a sign indicating that high heels were not allowed there. The image of the thin heels on the sign stuck with him and soon he started his own sketches which were further inspired by a book of Roger Vivier designs given to him by a friend. He later became an apprentice at Viviers Artelier.

Christians Signature Red Bottoms.
His professed goal has been to "make a woman look sexy, beautiful and to make her legs look as long as he can". While he does offer some lower-heeled styles, he is generally associated with his dressier evening-wear designs incorporating swvaroski stones, jeweled straps, bows, feathers and unique decorative touches.

Business savvy Christian rarely gives shoes away – offering discounts instead to his high-profile fans. This policy also extends to his family, because he feels that giving shoes away as gifts is unimaginative.

Danielle steele has been said to be his biggest client ever with 6,000 pairs (I would carry a gun to raid that collection) and buying as many as 80pairs at a time while shopping (there are louboutin lovers and there are faithfuls... *sigh*)

He sells as many as 700,000 pairs a year with an annual revenue of about $300million with 95% of that coming from shoes.(I wonder how much of that comes from naija seeing as our females are really not smiling with their loubies).
Louboutins can sell from $495 and up, with a crystal-encrusted pair costing $6,000.The base price for a custom-made pair of Louboutin is $4,000. They are found outside his stores in places like Neiman Marcus, Saks Fifth Avenue, Nordstrom and a few others.

In 2003, his first extension outside of shoes was the introduction of his handbags and purses line. He also released a line of men's designs which have all been doing well.

In 2011, he celebrated 20years of being a designer and released the CAPSULE collection that references twenty of his most iconic styles, inspired by his love for fine arts, design, the world of showgirls and cabaret and his passion for exotic destinations.
He's had so many collections, it's almost difficult to keep up. I don't think there's any Hollywood celebrity that hasn't rocked a pair to some red carpet event.

His Spring Summer 2015 release is the reason why I will work my a** off to make money.

I can't get over this man called CHRISTIAN LOUBOUTIN and his designs. My very own shoe legend... Happy ManCrushMonday!!!

XOXO, SOLE.DIVAS
